Comet Cycles Bike Services

From regular servicing to full custom builds – we've got your ride covered.

At Comet Cycles, we offer everything from basic tune-ups to complete bespoke bike builds. Whether you’re upgrading components, restoring an old favourite, or planning a full custom build, we’re here to help.

​

Our aim at Comet is minimum turn around servicing, although in the busier months we can be booked out a couple of weeks in advance. Ensuring your bike is booked in for an appointment and no special parts are needed it is a same day service if required. If parts are required you’re looking at a 4-5 business day turn around period.

Gear Services

  • Electronic Gear Tuning

    • Firmware upgrade – $35

    • Diagnostics (includes firmware upgrade) – $65

    • Full check, adjustment and diagnostics – $85

  • Mechanical Gear Tuning — From $50

    • Check and lubricate gear cables

    • Replace cables as needed (parts extra)

    • Straighten derailleur hanger

    • Adjust and lubricate derailleurs

Kids’ Bike Service — $50

For bikes without gears:

  • Full clean

  • Brake and chain check

  • Lubricate chain and cables

Basic Service — From $90 to $150
A thorough tune-up to keep your bike riding smoothly.

  • Full bike clean (price depends on condition)

  • Brake check, adjust or replace as needed (parts extra)

  • Bottom bracket and headset check/adjust/replace (parts extra)

  • Gear tuning and derailleur alignment

  • Chain, cable, and derailleur lubrication

  • Report on any major wear or required repairs

 
Full Service — From $200 to $300
Everything in the Basic Service plus:

  • Basic Service

  • Clean & Degrease

  • Full strip, clean and rebuild of bottom bracket and headset

  • Brake fluid replacement (if required)


Major Service / E-BIKE — From $450
Our most comprehensive E-Bike service, including:

  • Full assessment and quote of recommended works on bike

  • Brake adjust and tune

  • Gear adjust and tune

  • Nut and bolt tension check

  • Bottom bracket service (remove, clean, re-grease and re-fit and tension. If applicable, some E-bike bottom brackets are incorporated into the motor)

  • Headset bearing Service (remove, clean, re-grease and re-fit and tension)

  • Wheel true and spoke tension adjust and check

  • Hub and free hub service (Bearings additional if require replacement)

  • Full cable replacement (gear, dropper post etc)

  • Brake bleed (If applicable)

  • Suspension/dropper post function check

  • Pivot inspection, clean re-grease and re-tension (bearings additional if require replacement)

  • System fault check and updating of software (if applicable)

  • Check over of internal/external electrical leads and plugs

  • Check of motor mount tension and motor bearing condition check

  • Tyre inflation

Major Service / ROAD — From $450
Our most comprehensive Road Bike service, including:

  • Full assessment and quote of recommended works on bike

  • Brake adjust and tune

  • Gear adjust and tune

  • Nut and bolt tension check

  • Bottom bracket service (remove, clean, re-grease and re-fit and tension)

  • Headset bearing Service (remove, clean, re-grease and re-fit and tension)

  • Wheel true and spoke tension adjust and check

  • Hub, and free hub service (Bearings additional if require replacement)

  • Full cable replacement

  • Brake bleed (If applicable)

  • Bar tape wraping 

  • Sealant top up (if applicable)

  • Tyre inflation

  • Fitment of supplied parts

Our most comprehensive MTB Bike service, including:

  • Full assessment and quote of recommended works on bike

  • Brake adjust and tune

  • Gear adjust and tune

  • Nut and bolt tension check

  • Headset bearing Service (remove, clean, re-grease and re-fit and tension)
